At the forefront of all of our planning is your future memories. We want to make sure you have a pleasant experience planning your wedding because it can get stressful very quickly! This means that we guide you through the planning process from beginning to end, making decisions about what your wedding will look and feel like while letting you focus on smaller details that make your day personal and special.
Who We Are
In November 2014, LuckEleven Events was officially founded when Melanie had her first official client, a destination wedding nonetheless, in Boston. After one brutal winter on the east coast, Mel packed her bags and moved back to her Sunny SoCal hometown without any hesitation. Every year since then, LuckEleven Events has grown tremendously in terms of clients, budgets and team members!
L11 focuses on experiences and customization. We do not cater to a specific style, theme, location or vendor because our goal is to create a custom event that ensures guests will be talking about it for years to come (or at least the rest of wedding season!).
L11 has had its fair share of fires to put out. From wedding crashers to sick guests to a missing person (no, this is not an episode of Law & Order), we’ve seen it all and more importantly solved it all without anyone the wiser!

Meet Melanie
Owner and Principal Planner
Hi there! My name is Melanie but almost everyone calls me Mel. I’m originally from San Diego and I have been working in events since I was 16 years old! From internships in high school, to assistant positions in college, to a senior planner position post-grad, I have been immersed in this industry at every level. In 2014, with the support of my family, friends and mentors, my own event planning company, LuckEleven Events, was born while I was (temporarily) living in Washington D.C. and working for the government - I know, weird career choice given my past.
I currently take on a limited amount of weddings per year to give each event the most attention to detail as possible. Each event is near and dear to my heart and I want to make sure your experience feels intimate, elevated and authentic. I also take on a good amount of brand/social events per year to exercise my creativity and bring brands or themes to life in an interactive and original way.
